Organizing Your Disk FIRST THINGS FIRST: Always back up your original disk. Then use the copy as your working copy -- store the original in a safe place. Hard Disk Users: Create a folder on your hard disk, and copy the contents of your America Online to it. Floppy Users: You will find America Online difficult (but possible) to use on a single floppy system. More likely you will have two floppy disk drives, in which case you should boot from one drive, and put your America Online disk in the other. Space-Saving Tips 1. You can remove the file called "StuffIt" from your America Online disk. This will free up 95K. However, if you want to download files that are compressed using StuffIt, you'll need that utility to decompress them. 2. You can remove the file called "Online Imager" from the Online Files folder. This will free up 55K, but will mean that you cannot view "Glue" files. 3. Only for experts: You can remove the color pictures and icons from the file "Online Art" using the appropriate tools. This will not have any effect on members with black and white monitors. This will free up 100K. (If you don't already know how to do this, don't do it.)
